  16. try TopTen out for a reasonable trial period and are then
  17. required to register it if you wish to continue using it;
  18. registration is only $5 US!!!  Any attempt to package this
  19. product as your own, disassemble this product, sell this
  20. product on a shareware disk without informing the purchaser
  21. that they have not yet bought TopTen, distributing a
  22. registration key, or possessing an altered version of this
  23. product is forbidden.

  29.      TopTen is a door that allows users to create top ten
  30. lists, adding an element every time they pass trough the door. 
  31. It is sort of a cross between a graffiti wall and a voting
  32. booth.  Try it out locally with the included files and you
  33. should get a good idea of what it does.  I recommend setting
  34. TopTen up so that every time a user calls they pass through
  35. it or at least see the ANSI or ASCII files.
  36.      TopTen does not require any setup program (although you
  37. should take a look at sysop.top) or command line parameters.
  38. All it needs is a dropfile from the BBS.  CHAIN.TXT,
  39. DORINFOx.DEF, SFDOORS.DAT, DOOR.SYS, CALLINFO.BBS, and
  40. EXITINFO.BBS (but not this one alone) are all acceptable.
  41. Be sure to delete the included DORINFO1.DEF before running
  42. TopTen on your BBS!

  44.      TopTen was written using the Open Doors library and is
  45. therefore compatible with RemoteAccess, QuickBBS, PC-Board,
  46. Maximus, Apex, Opus, WildCat, WWIV, Spitfire, SuperBBS,
  47. RBBS-PC, TriTel, GAP and others.  This program requires a
  48. FOSSIL. (unless it only run locally)

  52. Top Ten reasons for using and registering TopTen

  60.     and puts up a screen telling your users to send you money!

  75.      This should be self explanatory but:
  76. 0-Exit                   Exits the door
  77. 1-Add to list            Adds the next element to the list in
  78.                          descending order.
  79. 2-Add future category    Adds a category to the list of
  80.                          categories that will be used in the
  81.                          future.  If "Reasons that there are
  82.                          no categories" is displayed, it will
  83.                          continue to be displayed until the
  84.                          next category would normally be
  85.                          displayed even if new categories were
  86.                          added.
  87. 3-New category           SYSOP FUNCTION ONLY Moves on to the
  88.                          next category in the cat.top list and
  89.                          takes care of all other necessary
  90.                          file changes.  It is not necessary to
  91.                          use this but you want to if you don't
  92.                          like the current subject or to trim
  93.                          the cat.top list.(too many categories
  94.                          were added)

  96. These are only displayed if they are available to the person
  97. who is currently using the door.

  100. FILES
  101.      You won't have most of these files to start with, TopTen
  102. creates many. '*' means that there is no need for you to do
  103. anything to this file or even look at.

  105. topten.exe     Main program

  107. top!show.exe   Free program for sending ansi and ascii files,
  108.                automatically decides which one.

  110. sysop.top      Sysop configuration file
  111.  
  112. top.ans        ANSI file with the latest top ten list; updated
  113.                automatically.

  115. top.asc        ASCII file with the latest top ten list;
  116.                updated automatically.

  118. day.top        File used by TopTen to keep track of when to
  119.                move on to next category.  Delete it (it will
  120.                come back) to force it to go to the next
  121.                category.(the same thing can be done by being
  122.                the sysop and hitting '4' at the TopTen menu)

  124. * cat.top      File containing future categories; don't mess
  125.                with it.
  126.  
  127. * rson.top     File containing the top ten entries as they are
  128.                added; don't mess with it.

  130. name.top       Keeps track of who entered what if you have
  131.                that enabled. (from sysop.top) You must delete
  132.                this yourself or it will keep getting bigger.

  134. * n-cat.top    Keeps track of who has entered a future
  135.                category today when enabled. (by activating the
  136.                1 category a day limit, will slow things down)
  137.  
  138. * n-rson.top   Keeps track of who has entered an element on
  139.                the top ten list today if you have that
  140.                enabled. (by either limiting users to one entry
  141.                a day or forcing them to enter one a day, it
  142.                will slow the door down)

  144. top.cat        Some categories you may want to use to get
  145.                started, just rename this file to cat.top.
  146.  
  147. dorinfo1.def   A drop file to run in local mode as sysop;
  148.                delete before running for real!

  155.      Registration is only $5 for any BBS running up to 5
  156. nodes, and only $1 per node extra beyond that.  An unlimited
  157. number of copies may be run on any 1 BBS. (maybe you would
  158. want a different one for each node?)  Add $2 extra if paying
  159. by personal check.  Foreign orders are welcome as long as
  160. payments are in US dollars.

  178. happy little game of death where each player (max of 25
  179. players in a game, unrealistic max of about 30,000 games) gets
  180. people, nuclear weapons, and a defense; the last person alive
  181. wins!  Regular registration price for this game will only be
  182. $10 and if you have already registered TopTen it will only be
  183. $5!!!!!
